What's the process?

So you ask, what are the steps you take to get a photo turned into a painting?

Step 1

It starts with you. Taking a photo you love. Realizing it’s too good and meaningful to get lost in the avalanche of all your other snapshots.

Step 2

Someone mentions joanbonettifinearts.com, and here you are! If you didn’t already know, I’m in the business of turning that simple snapshot into something memorable. At this point, I hope you realize that’s what you want to do with your photo. You want to make something more of your snapshot... perhaps, by turning it into a painting that can be passed from generation to generation.

Here’s how you and I can work together to make this happen:

1. You’ll submit your photograph to me, Joan Bonetti, on the contact page of this website.

2. I’ll get back to you within 1-2 business days so we can discover what will serve your photograph best. We’ll talk about canvas sizes, colors, and art styles.

3. Once we’ve created a vision together, you’ll make a deposit to kick off the project.

4. I’ll send you a few initial sketches to make sure we’re on the same page.

5. Throughout the process, I’ll send you progress photos of the painting. The painting stage usually takes two to three weeks, but can last up to six depending on the complexity of the project.

6. Finally – the painting is done! You’ll make your final payment.

7. The final piece will arrive on your doorstep shortly thereafter.
